Wax Poetic solid cologne is a fragrance in wax form instead of a spray. It comes in a portable tin and is applied directly to the skin. Think of it as cologne without the cloud — subtle, convenient, and easy to reapply.
-
Solid cologne is usually a little more personal and close-wearing than a traditional spray. It is designed to be noticed when someone is near you, not to enter the room five seconds before you do. The goal is a 5-6 foot “scent bubble”. This projection makes it noticeable without fumigating the entire room. This makes it great for everyday wear, work, travel, and touch-ups. The linear dry down is unlike spray colognes. What you smell in the tin is what stays on the skin.

For best results, apply to pulse points such as:
Wrists
Neck
Behind the ears
Inner elbows
Chest and collar bone
These warmer areas help the fragrance open up naturally.
Also apply to the upper chest for when she enters the “hug zone”. Core scent memory established.

That depends on the scent, your skin chemistry, how much you apply, and the environment you are in. Most people can expect several hours of wear, with the option to easily reapply whenever needed. Lighter fruity summer scents will fade faster than heavier winter and woody scents.
-
A tin can last a surprisingly long time with normal use. Since you only use a small amount at a time, many customers find that one tin lasts for a few months or longer with daily wear. Naturally, the more you apply will affect how long it lasts.

Our scents are inspired by vintage fragrance eras and nostalgic scent profiles that many people know and love. Think of a faithful interpretation of iconic fragrances you know and love with a modern twist. Wax Poetic is all about capturing a vibe, a memory, and a feeling — then giving it a fresh identity of its own.

Yes. Solid cologne is ideal for travel because it is compact, easy to pack, and does not create the same hassle as a liquid spray bottle. Our colognes are exempt from the TSA 3-1-1 rule because they are a solid wax or balm rather than a liquid, aerosol, or gel. Airport security does not restrict their size, nor do they require you to pack them inside your clear, quart-sized toiletries bag. Throw it in your pocket like lip balm and refresh as needed.
-
Like many wax-based products, solid cologne can soften if left in extreme heat for long periods. To keep it in the best condition, avoid leaving it in hot cars or direct sunlight. Keeping in your pocket to refresh throughout the day is completely okay though. Ensure the lid is screw on securely and you should have no problems.
-
It should not feel overly greasy when used properly. Apply a light amount and let it warm into the skin. The goal is a smooth, controlled application — not a heavy residue. Rub gently into the skin and the only thing you’ll notice is how good you smell.
-
Yes — and that is part of the fun. Some customers like to wear one scent during the day and another at night, while others enjoy combining two complementary scents to create something more personal.
-
Store it in a cool, dry place with the lid closed tightly when not in use. That helps preserve the texture and scent.
